Teachers are not only one of the most important job in the past but also appreciated at present. Some viewers claim that teachers are more appreciated by society nowadays than there were in the past, because of the rising demand of knowledge in our time. However, I think teachers were more valued by society in the past than they were in toady.

Firstly, due to the development of technology, learning knowledge is more easier. In the past,if a student wants to learn something, studying with a teacher is the only way he can choose. At the result of this, students and their parents appreciated the teacher who taught their knowledge. Comparing with the limited choice in the past, students in today have can use computer internet, read books and go to museum. Take computer for example, if you want to solve some question, you just need to search on google, and it can tell you almost everything The internet knows more knowledge than any teacher, so teachers were less appreciated by society than before is sensible.

Secondly, the statue of teacher in the traditional culture is high, but this culture is partly missed. In  ancient China,  the teacher as the moral model were appreciated by society . As ancient Chinese saying, “even if the teacher only taught you one day, you should treat him as your father forever”. In ancient China, the most appreciated people are not the emperor but the Confucius, who have 3000 students and be called the first teacher in china. However, the Confucian and the traditional culture was destroyed in modern china, the teacher lose its statue and become a normal job like doctor, worker and officer, thus teachers were less valued by today society is unavoidable.

Due to the development of technology and the absence of traditional culture, I think teachers were less valued by society today than they were in the past.
