Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All university students should be required to take history courses no matter what their field of study is. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Instead of a series of single moment of a person’s life, something more meaningful will be revealed, if people view history from a macroscopic perspective. So learning history benefits. And here comes the claim that all university students are supposed to take a history class. I disagree with the statement.

Granted, learning history could enlighten a person. Because the best lesson is in history. To be more specific, by learning how suitable environment is necessarily required for the settlement of human beings, people can realize the importance of protecting the environment; by studying why trade brought prosperity to a region, people form the idea of international trading; by discovering what cause the end of ancient Roman, people develop more sensible administrative system. In a word, people keep moving forward better by absorbing from history.

However, to let every university student take history class is not reasonable. It will exert a huge impediment to those who major science or engineering. These students are already overwhelmed by having abundant of homework assignments like papers, group projects, presentations and experiment reports. And it will provide nothing but more tension, tension which is not supposed to be necessary to them, to them if they are required to take history class. And more stress students experience , worse learning state they posses. Eventually, they may fail both major classes and gain nothing from history class and as a result, underachieving. Therefore, all students are required to a history class is irrational.

Furthermore, it is not feasible for school to manage to let all students take a history class. There is not adequate recourse, especially for a science school, to support this proposal. To be more concrete, arranging history classes for all students would require more teaching buildings, history teachers and textbooks, not to mention extra and abundant funds and workloads. Even with enough money for construction and salary, school still stands no chance of hiring such large numbers of teachers because, not everyone teaches and, not every teacher teaches history.

To put it in a nutshell, I oppose every student should take a history class

    Score: ungraded

    Issues:

    1. About 20% of the sentences are passive. Convert some of them into their active counterparts.
    2. Many sentences need to be rewritten – write in complete sentences
    3. The introduction paragraph should state your argument clearly and include some short supporting information.
    4. Spelling errors

I will send you screenshots to illustrate specific problems/errors.
