Some people believe that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters is likely to result in a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes. Other people believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them.

Nowadays, many people discuss a topic – what are the results if allow children to make their own choices on everyday matters. There are two different views.

Some people think it has a bad impact on kids’ personality. Children usually consider themselves firstly, which is the reason why they always cry when their wishes don’t be satisfied. So, they tend to give priority to their own needs when making choices, which results in a social individual who only thinks about himself. In addition, kids sometimes make decisions with a short-term benefit, just like playing with friends without finished homework, which is making them happy but has a bad influence on their study.

However, others believe that it is beneficial for children to be allowed to make decisions about matters that affect them. Generally, kids pay attention on the things they interest, for example, if a kid want to play puzzles, he would focus on it until finishing. So, a child who makes his own choices has definite aims and is willing to completes them without a nudge. Moreover, making decisions independently means that children tend to think alone instead of only following others’ words, which is an important skill in their future study and life.

In my opinion, allowing kids to make their own decisions about matters which affecting them has a good impact on growing, while, parents and teachers should pay attention on them to keep them in a right line, after all, nobody is born as a person who is able to distinguish between right and wrong.
