People have different ideas about whether advertisements are the primary cause of the phenomenon that people buy more than they need. [ wordy ]While advertising (plays a central role) [  wordy] in this result [incorrect word  ], I believe that other factors cannot be overlooked. 

We can see varieties of advertisements wherever we go in the [ article error ] consumer society, which may lead to citizens’ over-consumption [ unclear ]. [lack of a transitory word  ]Excessive exposure to these advertisements is likely to enable consumers to buy some goods which/that they do not need. For example, people buy a new refrigerator known for its low-emission and cost-effective [ word form error ]. As a consequence, they have to deal with the former one [ unclear pronoun ] although it [ unclear pronoun ]is still useful. 

However, individuals can gain some information from advertising when they have no idea about this kind of goods [wordy  ]. Once consumers want to buy some cutting-edge devices which they do not know details, they will be in a dilemma. By comparison, consumers surfing advertisements can compare the thing’s [ form error ] price, quality, and even weight. Therefore, they are more likely to gain [incorrect word  ] goods that meet their needs. 

Other factors are also responsible for excessive consumption. First of all, citizens can earn a higher salary than ever before, and then they have more disposable money to buy [article error  ]goods they want. Furthermore, the rapid development of technology has led to a lower cost of production [ punctuation error in relation to coordinating word ]so goods are more affordable. As a result, the higher salary of citizens and products’ lower costs [ use a conditional word here/would ]also result in over-consumption. 

In conclusion, while advertisements can affect consumers, we should give more attention to other considerations.
