As we may know, a good member is defined diversely in the society, which generally refers to people’s contributions to the society. But recently, some people argue on whom should help children to become a useful member of society. Some people believe that it is the duty of parents to guide children become a kind member, while others argue that school is the place to learn this. From my point of view, both of them should take the responsibility to improve children’s awareness of being a good member of society.

Obviously, parents should teach their kids to be good members of society. Firstly, parents have significant influences in the process of children’s growth. Children usually learn from parent’s characters and behaviors especially when they were babies. Then, compared with teachers, parents usually have more energy and time to notice and teach their children personally. In school, teachers should take care of the whole class, so they may not observe some problems with kids. Also, in comparison of teachers, children are less shy and defensive when facing parents, which helps parents communicate with children and correct their mistakes easily.

Also, school is an ideal place for children to learn how to be a person who can contribute to society. Firstly, children spend more time at school, so teachers have more time to know and accompany with children. Teachers usually educated more than parents, so they have more effective methods to teach kids. In addition, there are many students accompanied with each other closely in school, which can help children learn how to get along with others in the society in advance.

Generally speaking, both parents and schools have many advantages for children to learn how to be contributors in society. I believe that as long as parents and schools could work together, children could build a correct life and be a good member of society.
