A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take.

As the education policy indicates, senior students should take the University entrance examinations to gain the chance to get a permit to the University. To guarantee the justice, students in the same province should take the same examination to get a justified rank, by method of which they choose the school and the major. However, nowadays with the development of education system, the senior students could choose to learn different subjects before they enter the senior high school, through which they could choose their own interest. I am strongly in favor of this policy. It is not only a way to let the students to show their own interest and their talent, but also a method to distribute the educational resources reasonably.

Require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college will definitely bring convenience and benefit to the nation and the government. First of all, since the students learn the same national curriculum, the content of the entrance examination will be identical or totally the same to different students of different area, guarding the justice and equality of education in rich area and less developed area. What’s more, it is less confusing for the University to send their offers to different students according to their rank as well as their will. As explained above, it is quite a concise and a preferable approach to the educational policy.

In contrast, set students free on their own interest may cause a series of critical problem. It is a heavy burden for the government to balance the educational source distribution in different subjects in senior high school. Accordingly, the number of admissions of different majors should be adjusted as needed, thus may cause severe bias on some major or even some career. More importantly, a part of students may be too immature to make a decision on their own way, being affected the environment more easily.

Although letting the senior high students choosing their favorite subjects before they entering the senior high school may bring a series of problem, I still believe that it will be more suitable for students to choose different subjects to learn. They are exploring their own way to go after all. This period is just a journey of their life, through which they seek for their own interest, recognition, and approach to conceive the whole world. So it is less important for them to master something practical. It will be of more significance to free their spirits, cultivating creativity and critical thinking.

To sum up, in spite of barrier we meet with, I recommend that students should not learn the same thing before entering the University for the sake of their large interest and their development. Only in an atmosphere full of temperate free and explore could they seek their own interest and thus making contributions to the society.
