A rise in the standard of living in a country often seems to only benefit cities rather than rural areas. What problems might this difference cause? How might these problems be reduced?

It is widely acknowledged that the past decades witnessed a considerable rise in living standard, which tended to a trend that only benefits for cities rather than rural areas.

Admittedly, the improvement of living quality merely be beneficial for cities rather than rural areas bringing about various hazards. First and foremost, the major concern is that a decreasing number of people have intention to make a living in rural areas. This means that rural areas lack sufficient public and welfare resources for the local citizens. To be specific, employees could gain more profits or have more decent salaries if working in metropolitan. In the long term, the gap in economic development and living standards between city and countryside would be widen. Similarly, health care is another contributor that deserve our attention. The quality of living is closely associated with individuals’ well-being. However, the rural areas are treated unfairly without adequate medical system allocated from government, which would cause the citizens who live in rural areas are more likely to suffer from disease. For example, infectious diseases are more commonly seen at the rural area because of lacking advanced medical equipment and treatment.

Considering the above-mentioned problems, some measures need to be taken to combat this situation. On one hand, various related laws need to be enforced, for example, driving economic development in countryside is one of the necessary methods. If the economy in rural areas boom quickly, after that, the living standard in countryside would be much better than nowadays. On the other hand, governments are supposed to launch a campaign about protecting the human rights, ensuring everyone is treated fairly, regardless of the regional factor. At the same time, Citizens could also supervise government to as well.

To sum up, a large number of measures would contribute to improve this situation. If some related measures are taken into action immediately, a bright and balance developed society will be coming in the nearest future.
