Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is relatively true that cultivating learners in the realm of science and technology benefits society in the short term. The rapid development of the Internet and urbanization has seen a rise in the need of areas above. Science and technology perfect the devices, kits, equipment, and ensure a decent living quality. Nonetheless, in the long term, this might cause a hazardous disaster to poetry, literacy, history, drawing and other art subjects.  Humankind has always been absorbing powers from those masterpieces and the past, which unites us from isolation and loneliness.

The other view of allowing students to learn whatever they are crazy about. I argue that it is fanatical for freshmen to explore the outside world and follow their internal voices. They seek for where their real passions lie in. However, chances are that they might easily drop one boring subject and shift to another in a short time. Few could even graduate without a sophisticated learning plan, resulting in nothing they comprehend. In terms of society, those unqualified workers impede the process of development.

As far as I’m concerned, universities should keep a balance between. The curricular scheme covers multiple subjects for beginners and also encourages them to alter a specific major to grasp. The major should not be limited within few alternatives like science and technology. Deans deploy inviting extracurricular clubs and programmes to experience whatever they are passionate about. All of these compounds a positive circulation to cultivating a master as well as following their hearts.

In conclusion, students should choose a major rather than a haphazard timetable even that it is not so-called useful.
