Most children in China entertain themselves through computers, smartphones or video games. Because these are such prevalent methods of entertainment, we must consider whether children rely on these technologies too much. Some individuals suppose that playing with simpler toys or playing outside with friends would be better for children’s development. Personally, I disagree with this opinion, especially when considering the following two reasons.

The information offered by these technologies sometimes can even change our whole life, we can know what is happening in the outside world in the first time. For instance, Liying Zhao, a Chinese popular actress. When she was very young, she was playing games on the computer while an advertisement of a talent show appeared, then she clicked in and registered for this show. Finally, she won the competition and it has been the start point of her successful acting career. Without the advertisement shown on the computer, she would have no chance to change her whole life. Therefore, the essential information appeared on these technologies can have a great influence on the children’s lives.

Anyone who is not able to use these technologies are also cannot adapt to our society. At present, these technologies greatly make our life more convenient and deeply develop into our daily life. It is hard to imagine if one goes outside without smartphone to scan the code in order to pay the bill, he cannot even use the car-hailing app to get his destination. My old grandpa knows nothing about the smartphone, so he just always stays at home and seldom go out far away without others company. Thus, it is a necessary skill to use these technologies proficiently.

Admittedly, some teenagers obsessed with the games on the computers or cell phones, these games do harm to both their body and mental health. However, most of the games and apps have established the policies to prevent children from being obsessed. Thus, relying on the technologies for fun is good for children’s development.

In conclusion, I support children to use technologies for entertainment both for the significance information and social adaptation.
