Studies show that criminals get a low level of education. Some people believe that the best way to reduce crime is educating people in prison so they can get a job after leaving prison. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The past several years have witnessed a phenomenon that many criminals are poorly educated and unable to find suitable jobs. I generally agree with prison education in order to promote their life quality after leaving prison, although there exists other effective methods to reduce crime.

Prison education can improve people working skills in order to find a career to adopt themselves, thus reducing criminal rate. To be more specific, it is difficult for people with low educational levels to make a living so they have to steal or rob to support themselves and their families. Through skills trained in prison, such as repairing light bulbs and pipes, they may find appropriate jobs in the workforce market. Simultaneously, education can alter prisoners ‘attitudes of getting something for nothing, eliminate mentality of taking shortcuts and recognize the value of effort.

Although prison education is a useful approach, it is not the best one, and some other methods are also helpful. For example, government could pour more money in supervision, improving laws and punishment. In addition, government officers can also promote welfare in poverty areas to ensure normal standard of living. And then, through publicity and education by communities and schools , especially for the young, citizens will generally comply with laws and decrease crime rates.

In conclusion, prison education can cultivate sinners ‘working relevant skills and promote their life quality after release , which is a good way to decline the crime rate, but not the best, and government regulation is also necessary.

It is observed that many criminals are poorly educated and unable to find suitable jobs after release. I generally agree that carrying out prison education program can lower the recidivism rate, although there exist other effective methods .

Prison education can teach and improve criminals working skills as well as offer them opportunities to obtain qualifications. This will help them find a career upon release, thereby making them less likely to reoffend. Release prisoners commit crimes often because they find difficult to regenerate into society after a long prison. The fist and essential step to reintegrate is to get a stable occupation. If they are allowed to receive job training and pursue a degree, they will leave prisons with new-learned or upgraded skills, like repairing light bulbs and pipes. And then these people will become assimilated into local communities rather than criminal habits.

Simultaneously, education can alter prisoners’ attitudes about getting something for nothing as well as recognize the value of effort. Some young offenders break laws because of a desire to earn money as fast as possible. When their salaries can not afford popular luxuries, they may tend to rob or steal to meet their vanity. Launching mental education in prison will deter this unhealthy mentality and help them rebuild normal consumption concepts.

Although providing education is a useful approach, it is not the best one due to no one-size-fits all solution. Many juvenile offenders or first-time offenders can understand legal responsibilities through this training. However, for those recidivists or murderers, it is invalid to educate their behaviors as well as influence their thoughts. A long prison can isolate them from society as a harsh penalty, thereby reducing crimes in an effective way.

In conclusion, prison education can promote inmates’ lives quality after release, but not the best one. Different approaches can be used in different situations.

Prison education can teach and improve criminals working skills as well as offer them opportunities to obtain qualifications. Many juvenile offenders or first-time offenders can understand legal responsibilities through this training. However, for those recidivists or murderers, this method is invalid to correct their behaviors and reform their thoughts. Only by keeping them isolated from society, as a harsh penalty, can crimes be fought in an effective way.

In conclusion, prison education promoting inmates’ living quality after release can reduce the crime rate, but not the best one. We should take various measures according to different situations.
