Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important for governments to spend money to improve Internet access than to improve public transportation. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

I disagree with the statement that governments should focus more on the internet access rather than public transportation. Nowadays, the Ineternet has become an essential part of our daily life, it has offered us an easy way to get connected with each other through instance messaging application and video or voice calling. It has really broden our horizeon. Although through out these benefits, I still think the real world transportation is more important than the virtual internet access.

First, in our modern society, not everyone are used to using the internet at all ages. The history of Internet is just about 30 years, it’s not easy for the older who already have their own lifestyle to get used to such things. Moreover, it’s diffculty for them to learn such a new technique to use them. However, the public transportation influences everyone no matter of age and distance. Improvement of public transportation will benefit everyone. It will save their time and make their commute easier.

Second, human beings are social animals living in the real world, we need to comunicate with each other face to face. Image that, if you are far from your home for work, you can call a video chat to your family for an hour or get home in 2 hours using the modern transportation, which one do you prefer? The Internet may make our communication easier, however, it cannot reduce the distance which is really exist. We prefer the warm faces rather than the cold screens.

Third, the real world transportation determine the economy and the power of a country. The Internet may provides a lot easier ways to our lives, but the transportation almost determine everything and has a far-reaching influence to us deeply. It transports goods which the Internet cannot. It makes travel more easier which the Internet cannot. In one word, public transportation still matters today!

I think nowadays governments still need to put a high priority on public transportation rather than internet access. Both of them transport objects. Internet carries high-level information in the form of electronic signals. Public transportation delivers heavier and more physical entities via roads, railways and etc. In this modern society, the Internet has become an essential part of our daily life. It has not only provided us a convenient way to get the latest news all around the world but also offered us a lot of visual and aural entertainment. It has definitely broadened our horizons. Compared with such massive benefits the Internet can bring to us, public transportation seems to dim its light and become disappear from the sight of humans. However, like oxygen, it does not represent it is unvital or useless because we are unable to see or feel it. Today, public transportation still plays a fundamental role whose position cannot be replaced by internet access as state below.

First, the development of internet access requires the development of public transportation. Although internet signals can communicate wirelessly through air, the construction of signal towers cannot leave the ground. Technicians have to transport the parts of these internet machines and install them locally which cannot be finished without the help of public transportation. However, bad weather like raining influences the quality of these wireless signals. As a result, there’s always a demand for wired cables which are more stable. Unfortunately, the deployment will be a challenge because of the complexity of the landform. This is why most of the deployments and constructions are along with the roads. So, public transportation is a prerequisite of internet access that cannot live without.

Second, public transportation can benefit people of all ages. It is a fact that the Internet is very popular among the younger generations. But actually, the history of it is not more than thirty years. It is not an exaggeration to say that the majority of people have already been used to the lifestyle where there’s no internet. For elders, it will make them happier when their traveling becomes easier and faster. While when they try to use the Internet, they often get confused or get tired. It may take a long time for them to adjust to or learn this new technique. It’s not as friendly as public transportation. In a word, all generations can enjoy the improvement of public transportation regardless of the difference of age.

Last but not least, public transportation can bring us a warm temperature which the Internet cannot provide. Which one do you prefer: chat with your family through cold screens for one hour or get home in thirty minutes and give them a warm hug?
