Some people think only liberal arts students should study history, and it is not necessary for science students to take history lessons. However, I think every student should take history courses for the advantages history courses bring.
Taking history courses can give students a relief. University students have so many tasks to finish every day, especially for some science students, they always involve the whole time into classes and laboratory. After backing to dorm after a long exhausting day, students always feel as tired as you can imagine, especially when they encounter hard homework which needs a lot of calculation. In this case, taking some history courses is a good choice to ease the mood. There are many interesting stories and amusing anecdotes in the history classes, which adds some different experience for their study life and relief their tiredness. For instance, a recent survey conducted by Peking University among some universities in several major cities indicates that nearly 43 percent university students, excluding students major in history, want to add history courses in their schedule, for these courses are attractive and ease their pressure, and then they will have a better mood to get involved in the following lessons. Learning history is really a good method to temporarily release you from everyday hard study.
