Education has always been a topic that has sparked off widespread public debates over whether educational institutions should motivate their students to devote themselves in the high-paid filed. The terminal aim of education, in some people’s opinions, is to have a luxurious life. Contrary to these people’s views is my perspective that educational institutions should encourage students to spare no effort in the field that they have interest or talent in.

What should be prioritized is that the responsibility of schools or other educational institutions is to provide high- quality people with high-level education who can contribute to the development of the society, rather than just letting everyone have lots of money. In addition, if the educational institution cannot do this, there will be considerable problems. Firstly, hardly can the society run without balance because of the absence of particular positions that are low-paid, such as cleaning the building or public areas. Moreover, as the result of unbalanced structure of the society, many people will lose the chance to get the approach to a quality life. In the other words, the wealth will become richer, the penniless will become poorer, which will result numerous risks, such as stealing or killing.

What should be equally discussed is that encouraging students to study what they want or good at not only has advantages for societies, but also is beneficial for students’ individual development. To begin with, never can we ignore the fact that students can acquire more knowledge because they are interested or gifted in particular field. In addition, the more knowledge and skills students have in the field that they are interest in, the more likely they will have a rosy a bright future in that area, which is good for their individual development. However, students will be uncomfortable whole life if they work for the filed high-paid but they do not like.

As opposed to my ideas, some people may state that the citizens who are in lucrative careers and high-educated are more helpful for the society’s development. They advance the theory by saying that many famous professors in MIT or other high-level universities are high-paid and they are essential for the development of societies or even the world. However, from my perspective, these people misunderstand the casual relationship of the payment and importance of a position. What I should clear is that, it is true that the higher payment of a field, the more likely this field is essential and important for the development of societies, but this condition is not absolute. For instance, never can we ignore the contribution of the workers who establish the building where the famous professors or other elites working.

To briefly sum up, educational institutions should not actively encourage their students to choose fields of study just for money. They should pay attention to their responsibility to societies and the students’ benefits.
