Governments should offer free university education to any student who has been admitted to a university but who cannot afford the tuition.

Education is an important question for anyone live in any country. Although all of us want to receive a university education, but there are still several obstacles. If a student gets an offer from a university but cannot afford the tuition, he or she can only drop out without help. I think it’s a shame as well as loss to our society, so I agree that governments should offer a free university education to such student.

First of all, all of us have the right to receive education and this right is light of civilization. It’s as important as life in society nowadays. Without enough education, we cannot find a good job which can offer a decent salary for comfortable life. To those students who don’t have enough money to afford tuition but get an offer from any university, it’s reasonable to assume their family is too poor for them to enjoy their life when they are children, but they are still working hard to change their life. If we deprive their right to receive university education, it means that we deprive their right to live a better life. This is also a kind of discrimination, a discrimination to poverty. In the past, people may be classified into different classes once after their birth, but if we still classify people by whether they are poor when birth, isn’t it a regression of our society?

Secondly, the cost for university tuition is little compared to the damage made by dropouts. If we don’t offer a student enough money to continue his study, then what will a teenager do? He may find a job with little salary and still work hard, which is the best situation. But there are still other possible situations. He may be unemployed, then our society lose precious workforce. He may commit a criminal because he cannot see hope in life, then our society will lose much money to catch him and offset his damage. The worst situation is that he may call together his friends who also drop out to commit criminal together, and the loss cannot be estimated. Why don’t we just give him an opportunity to study at the beginning?

At last, the cost for university tuition is profitable. A man with university education can work for more jobs than those who without university education, and we may get more tax from him much more than university tuition in the future. Besides, more talents can push science to progress, as a result push our society to progress. We cannot expect enough people without university education work in computer science, which dominate nowadays life. University tuition is little compared to the benefit.

In conclusion, it’s profitable to offer a free university education to any student who has been admitted to a university but cannot afford the tuition even regardless of moral consideration. For our civilization and profitability, I agree to offer free university education to those students.
