How to best handle the relationship between teachers and students.

Teachers play an important role in everyone’s life. One chooses a teacher as his job, which means that he will take responsibility for teaching and passing valuable knowledge from one generation to the next. Recently, there’s been a discussion about how to handle the relationship between teachers and students in the studying process.

My suggestions are given from two perspectives. One is from the students’ perspective, the other is the teachers’.

From the students’ perspective, students should respect their teachers for their knowledge and dedication in their hearts.  A cognitive change can bring a behavior change. With respect from their mind, they will behave more politely and obey the class rules, thus joining more actively in classroom activities. In this way, a friendly environment is established where teachers and students have a good relationship and happy memories.

From the teachers’ perspective, firstly, it is necessary to respect students, too. Respecting students can lead teachers to hear their inner voices and help them to solve problems. Respecting students can help teachers to enhance students’ self-esteem and confidence. Respecting students can induce a relaxed state for both teachers and students. Secondly, teachers should dedicate their energy and enthusiasm to improving knowledge and teaching skills, such as how to express knowledge in a clearer way, how to improve students’ grades, rather than spoiling students. A good teacher brings students a new perspective and life experiences.

Above all, respect and dedication are necessary ingredients for a harmonious relationship between teachers and students.
