    The charts compare the average proportions of sodium, saturated fats and added sugars in typical meals consumed in the USA.

    The consumption of sodium accounts for 43% in dinner, which is the highest proportion among all four nutrients. The reminder is consumed in  breakfast, the snacks (each accounting for 14%) and the lunch (which consumes 29%).

    Similarly,  the percentage of saturated fat are also consumed in dinner (37%). The second highest consumption time is lunch (26%).The remaining percentages are consumed in breakfast and the snacks, 16% and 21% respectively.

    The percentage of added sugar shows a different distribution. Snacks contain
    the most proportion of added sugar(42%),while the proportions of breakfast, lunch and dinner are close, 16%, 19% and 23% respectively.

    Overall, more sodium and saturated fat are consumed in dinner, while move added sugar is consumed in snacks.
