In some countries, men and women have babies late in life. What are the reasons? Is it a positive or negative development?

Late childbirth may be a new normal in some countries,which,from my point of view,is due to the continuously rising living cost and the improvement of female status and it seems to have negative effects on society.

One main reason why couples have babies late is the high cost of raising a child.As living ryhthm has been quickening and the price for almost everything has been soaring,there is enormous financial pressure imposed on adults who want to provide their families with a high quality of life,which drives them to have babies late.

Another cause is the higher status of female nowadays compared  to in the past.With the development of the society,there are a large number of women who are eager to seek more education to establish themselves in jobs or careers.Hence,they are expected to be financially independent before having babies,which is an incentive for delaying.

Although it is beneficial to the individual to have a baby late,it is possible to bring several undesirable outcomes for society.Firstly,there is likely to be an increase of aging population,which as a result will negatively affect a shortage of workforce.In addiction,women would suffer a high-risk pregnancy if they chose to have a baby at their 40s or at an older age.

In conclusion,late childbirth is caused by the continually rising living cost and the improvement of female status,which whereas rewarding for the individual, it will ,in the long term,bring negative influences on society.
