In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. What might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Renting a house or buying one has become a hot issue. And in some countries, such as China, owning a home is significant for people. The essay will discuss reasons about this phenomenon and raise my own opinions.

People living in countries, whose economy relies on estate, regard the house as a necessity. The price of houses is rather expensive, so not everyone has the economic capability to afford a house in such countries. As a result, buying a home is becoming their ultimate goal. Additionally, residents living in such countries are insecure because they are worried about being evicted by landlords. And it is quite difficult to rent an ideal house in these countries. Therefore, it is vital to buy a house. Third, buying a house is a symbol of social status, which means you finally settle down in these countries. Hence, for people who live in some countries, buying a home is vital to their lives.

In my view, it is a negative situation for both the country and the individual. It is a common sense that when demand exceeds supply, the price will rise; therefore, if everyone wants to buy a house, the price of houses will rise, causing the growing number of people can’t afford to purchase houses. And high prices may bring about social conflicts, which would have adverse impacts on the economic development of a country. For individuals, if they regard buying a house as a life object, they will be exhausted. For instance, lots of people buy a house with a bank loan and many of them have to repay loan during their whole lives.

In conclusion, it is quite common for people to think that buying a home rather than renting one is important, though I don’t support the opinion.
