In some countries, owning a home rather than renting one is very important for people. Why might this be the case? Do you think this is a positive or negative situation?

Nowadays, the thoughts of owning a house instead of renting one has became a widely-accepted choice. As far as I am concerned, it is a positive situation.

Owning a house means the owner will be able to decorate it out of his or her own willing and preferences. They can paint walls using their favorite colors, install air conditioner to coll the hot air in summer, or even set up a little garden near their house as long as they want. All this activities can definitely arouse the sense of belonging and self-satisfaction, since after hard work of decorating, the house will be the way just as the owner’s like. In modern society, it is rare for someone to have the chance to obtain a place for relaxation, thus, owning a house is really significant for people.

In addition, owning a house sometimes can reduce the owner’s cost of living. For instance, the owner is supposed to go on a business trip, he or she can rent their houses out to make profits, if not, as long as they turn of the lights and taps, there will be no extra cost. It is predictable that owning a house has good influence on reducing the number of the owner’s bills.

To comparison, renting a house has some negative effects. First of all, the renter is not allowed to install or dismantle any applications, so the sense of isolation appears easily. Besides, it is obviously that even though the renter have a long trip which makes him/her absent from the rented house for a long time, the money for renting is still needed to be payed. What’s more, there is a potential problem that the landlord may be a tricky person, which means the renter will have difficulty getting along with him/her, and may even cause some arguments about the number of rent and renting period.

In conclusion, compared with renting one, owning a house really occupies a vital position in people’s mind, and I consider it is a positive situation.
