I agree with the statement that sports and social activities are as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support.

There is no doubt that a healthy body is the base of all activities in colleges. The equal importance and financial support can make sure that student have enough sports which offer them a healthy body to study in higher efficiency. Without it, some students may be unhealthy.For example a student who dose not like doing sports studies in a university which has no requirement in sports. There is nothing can force him to get out off his dark and comfortable room and do some simple sports such as hiking or running. So he   can act as he want, focuses on his study and research without any exercise. Gradually he will find it is harder and harder to focus on one thing for a long time, and easier to get tired. He may has known that it is because of the lack of exercise, but he just does not want to do sports, and no financial support in sports may make him ignore it’s importance, making his life in university worse an worse, and finally end up with lower grades and some sicks.

As for the social activities, I think no body can said that social abilities are useless during the time in college or after graduation. Let’s image a people who had tremendously great performance in academic during the college time but has no social ability. Clearly, he may not have a good carer because he can not communicate well with other people, and he may not do well in research due to his poor ability in expressing his opinion in academic. So it’s important to make sure that social activities has the same position as classes and libraries be. And the best way to train it is to give it the equal financial support.
