Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, there are many serious environmental issues around the world. It is suggested that only corporations can help to protect the environment. I partly agree with such an argument.

The basic fact is that any big group is constructed by individuals. To make their surroundings more comfortable, citizens would clean up their houses and plant flowers in their gardens automatically. So all people have such abilities to protect small areas around them. Furthermore, by developing these skills properly, everyone may be able to do many s, such as recycling, to make their won effort saving the Earth. After that, when more and more people work in environment, they may enter governments or large companies and improve the environment on behalf of their workplaces. So individuals’ attitudes towards the environment are the key to address issues.

However, large organizations and counties’ institutions play an important role in solving environmental issues, especially worldwide problems. Although individuals can make a difference in their local places, it is almost impossible for small groups to make an elaborate and accurate plan for a large-scale problem. A relatively big firm is needed to conduct a large project, communicate with different departments and ensure the whole process of project. And sometimes such a company has to negotiate with different counties and reach an international agreement. These tasks require sufficient funding, skilled workers and an ability to make complete schemes. And only big enough organizations can afford these demands.

To sum up, both individuals and institutions can help protect the environment just in different ways. What we should do is to pool resources from both sides, not just argue.
