If people could decide their workdays, some would prefer to work five days a week for short hours while others think a three-day work with a longer time fits them better. From my perspective, it is more enjoyable to choose the latter one, a short but concentrated work time.

The first plain truth lies in the fact that a three-day work reduces traffic problems. Traffic always appears to be a problem when talking about work. We have waitnessed people suffering from endless trips on buses, taxis, and subways. In big cities like New York, the average time people spend on traffic reaches 2 hours. A fair method to reduce suffering refers to deduce days of working. The fewer times people go to their companies, the less pain they receive. In order to decrease traffic problems, a centered work is undoubtedly a choice with more joy.

What is more, fewer work days means a flexible work plan. When people have to work for five days a week, they have no other options but working every weekday. Nevertheless, leaving two days without work, an elastic work plan would be brought. People could choose to work for three successive days, which means that they could rest for the following four days, enough time for a trip! Or they just work for one day but rest for another, better than warmed up by the alarm clocks every day! Hence, although transient tired could appear, this arrangement would attract most people.

Last but not least, a long-lasted period of work increases efficiency. People concentrate during work but relax after work. Frequently changings from concentration to relaxation interrupt a successive mind for regular work. Like programmers, facing the codes, they tend to spend a lot of time to keep up with what they thought yesterday at the beginning of a new day. Because recalling needs redundant time, it is not only preferable but almost crucial to arrange a more concentrated work to reduce the interruption.

In conclusion, considering fewer traffic problems, more flexible work arrangements, and more efficiency, I enjoy short but concentrated work more.
