It is more important for governments to spend money to improve Internet access than to improve public transportation.

When we enter 2000 20 years ago, almost everyone on the planet was surprised by how fast this world change. Inventors first bring us computers, then laptops, phones, and the internet. The invisible transportation reinforces the connection from New York to Alaska, humans have never lived so close to each other. This closeness the internet brings means more than physical closeness, it draws our minds together. We are separate physically and we are so together mentally. Thus I think it’s more important to improve Internet access.

Firstly, Internet access conveniences the delivery of news. The Internet is the vehicle of messages. Only the advanced transport of messages can help individuals, firms and the government catch up with the latest news. 21 century is a century about news, keeping up with the latest news can make individuals informed of things happen around, can help firms to adapt to the changing markets and can let the government get ahead in international affairs.

Secondly, Internet access promotes economic growth and diffuses cultures. As the population of Internet users surges, business starts to derive from this profitable market. For example, recently, a company called Bilibili is reaching its peak. Bilibili, a video platform, mainly focuses on youngers, aiming at propagating Internet cultures and the delivery of animations. What BIlibili achieves includes not only a convenient platform for producers and animation lovers, also an understanding of the earlier generation even the foreigners. Now Bilibili, the company, is a representative of Chinese culture, showing the world young China and its glorious charms.

Some may say, no matter how beneficial the Internet is if the public transportation system is not working well, you can’t even satisfy basic education need. However, the Internet does solve the problem. There are online courses on many apps and websites where teachers and students can teach and learn. What’s more, you can watch the open courses provided by campuses like Harvard, Yale, and Cambridge.

In summary, I strongly believe that improving Internet access can benefit the government more than transportation based on all evidence provided.
