Job interviews are not a reliable tool for employers who want to recruit new staff. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Employment interview has become a less popular recruitment method, because some people think it can be subjective and various under different circumstances. Although the aguement is justified, I am of the view that interview do more good than harm.

Interview can provide employers with detailed information of candidates. Enterprises need workers with capacities to cooperate and communicate since these are essential factors for people to work with colleagues successfully. Interviewers are allowed to know candidates’s factual personalities and interests through talking and match them to vacancies. For instance,  those who enjoy doing sports are likely to have social skills and  positive spirit which will benefit the communication with clients.

In addition, interviewers can assess the interviewees’ attitudes toward job. Normally, how deep candidates know about the campany will be know by examiners. This helps employers to select loyal potential workers, therefore the companies may have better perspectives. In other words, it is a good reflector of  the possibilities they leave work in the future. Fuethermore, practical skills will be shown during the interviews. Inquirers can test people with simple tasts, therefore assess how well they can use their knowledge.

On the other hand, interviews do have some drawbacks, leading to unreliability and uncertaity. Interviewers may be biased  or unfair, because they are bribed or affected by other irrelevant factors like appearances, relationships or even intuitions. What is more, candidates may  have participated in some courses in order to pretend they are knowledgeable and perform well. The above factors will lead to incorrect judgements for interviewers and decrease the efficiency in the long term.

To sum up, though interviews may negatively impact employers to some extents, these effects can be avoided by using professional interviewers and know detailed information of candidates in advance. So I firmly believe interviews are a trust-worthy mean for recruiting staff exteriorly. It can benefit companies’ owners as long as it is used appropritately.

    Score: 45.6

    Issues:

    1. About 30% of the sentences exceed 20 words. Shorten/split them.
    2. About 20% of the sentences are passive. Convert some of them into their active counterparts.
    3. Many sentences contain logical/factual errors. Use conditional writing if needed.

I will send you screenshots to illustrate specific problems/errors.
