Economic growth has always been put much emphasis on by many governments, although some people insist that other progress of a country should also raise equal concern. In my opinion, other types of progress are sometimes identically important, but economic progress remains the most significant.

Economic progress is superior to other progress, lying in its key role in society. Firstly, the booming economy is the fundamental basis of a peaceful, stable and long-lasting country, because the lack of healthy economic progress can lead to high unemployment, resulting in large amounts of crimes in the city.Secondly, good progress in the economy can provide citizens with better expectations, since a promising economic future will motivate people to work harder with hope. Finally, a country’s image could gain benefits from its economic progress. This could be quite attractive to people from developing countries who pursue a better prospect.

In spite of the leading role of economic progress, there are several other parts we need to take account of. To begin with, the government should also pay attention to ecological improvements, without which the goal of sustainable development can’t be realized. If we don’t care about the biological consequences brought by industrialization, then economic growth is bound to be impeded. Furthermore, we need to invest more in the military domain because the achievements it brings can defend the people from invasions of other countries. Last but not least, public welfare shouldn’t be overlooked, since what most people pursue is to live a happy life in a time of economic growth.

In conclusion, I think the benefits of economic progress outweigh the ones in other areas.
