Many people believe that the increasing use of modern technology at work and in leisure is reducing people’s creativity. To what extent do you agree or disagree.
In the contemporary world, technology has been used in every aspect of our lives. Some argue that using advanced technology damage the innovation and production of people in work and leisure. Although there are some drawbacks when using them, I consider that our creativity can be increased.
Admittedly, using modern technology at work and during the fun time has a bad influence. Firstly, people rely too much on the Internet when they have to tackle difficult problems. It is common to see that some officers search for solutions on the Internet when their boss gives them a mission to finish. After browsing the answers, their mind cannot be opened and are just stuck in the supplied and limited answers. As a result, they cannot create more efficient and innovative solutions.
However, I believe that this trend can invoke creativity most times. The main reason is that people could form a broader scope by using current technologies. They could search for everything they want on the websites just by pressing the button of the computer, whereas they have limited printed books or newspapers in the libraries supplied in the past. If they learn about the different views on the issue, they may be inspired and create some new things. Furthermore, technologies make people more ways to socialize. They could have an online party without worrying about the distance and the cost. With the development of technology, more approaches are invented by people to enjoy leisure time, such as some types of games in which people could create a new world.
In conclusion, although technology sometimes has negative effects, people can create more by using it in most circumstances.
