Nowadays, many people choose to be self-employed rather than to work for a company or organisation. Why might this be the case? What could be the disadvantages of being self-employed? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Recently, many people choose to be self-employed, rather than to work for a company or organisation. I guess factors followed might cause such situations. The factors contain both personal and social facts.

First of all, society is going down with a low economic increasing level, which means companies will need less jobs so that people have to do more for a job than in the situation before. And next, for individuals, people prefer a flexible job, mostly because people want opportunities to choose when or where to work, more specifically, people will decide what to work by themselves, but not be controlled by strict regulations in companies.  Due to the facts above, people, of course, will choose another path to get their jobs instead of working for a company, and the path could be ‘self-employed’.

Self-employment not solely provides people plenty of time or stage, but also gives a no-rules environment for all individuals involved. I guess the reasons above mainly contribute to the case.  However, there are also some disadvantages to being self-employed.

The most obvious disadvantage, for instance, is salary. Individuals who work for a company will have a fixed salary every month, even every year.  The case would be totally different in self-employed groups. Let me hold an example: A person is doing a trade business about fruit. The climate changes perhaps will undermine some potential growth of fruit. That means the person could get less salary in the next trade behaviour. Salary decreasing is a disaster for self-employed groups. Another disadvantage could be ‘tirement’. It’s simple that people working for a company just need to complete the part which the boss has delivered to. By contrast, individuals who are self-employed have to do everything themselves, they are about to feel more tired than those who work for companies. This is another disadvantage.

To sum up, self-employment has advantages on time and place, though, we cannot ignore its disadvantages. I believe people will take all aspects into consideration then choose their work styles.
