It is true that to be a home owner is better than the renter in some countries. Although there are some benefits to own a home, I personally believe that this phenomenon is negative.

There are several reasons why this perspective is so popular in some countries. Firstly, a home owned by people themselves gives a feeling of belonging so that they can be comforted. Especially when people are so tired or desperate, their home is the place belonged to them where they can release themselves completely. Secondly, it is safe that having the ownership of a home people do not need to worry about being evicted anytime. Finally, a home also represents one’s capability of making money and helps people to build their reputation and social status.

Even if the advantages above are reasonable, I would still argue why this situation is negative. Owning a home means that the majority of people have to pay for a mortgage. Under the burden of paying off the mortgage, people are forced to work hard and conserve more. In that case, there is little chance to enjoy life itself, let alone investing in themselves to have a further self-development. In addition, there is no such necessity to own a home just for the feeling of belonging or safety. Because those worries would naturally disappear when people are mentally strong enough.

In conclusion, owning a home is of much less importance. The disadvantages of the ownership of a home outweigh its advantages. I do believe there is no necessity to buy a house.
