Some people think that paying tax is their only duty, while others believe that we have more responsibilities towards our society. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Civic social responsibility seems to be a contentious issue on which people have never ceased  to debate. Some think that paying tax is their only duty, while others believe that we have more responsibilities towards our society. Both sides having their reasons, I think that if you don’t have much ability, pay tax and observe law and displine; If you have the ability, assume more social responsibilities and make the world better.

A person who knows paying tax is aware of his civic duty, but not aware of paying taxes is not the only duty. There may be two reasons for this. First of all, he only cares about himself and he may be unconscious of the other requirements of social development. He believes that he has done his duty to pay his taxes and assuming more may infringe on his interests. Besides, He also doesn’t want to take on more responsibilities under the pretence of lacking time and energy.

Someone cherishing the belief of undertake more responsibilities towards our society can be superior to others in a sense. They have fully recognized the significance of shouldering more responsibilities in regards to the achievement of individual value and the progress of society. For individuals, taking on more responsibility motivates them to reach their full potential, achieve their goals, and build good relationships. For the society, it can stabilize the harmonious social order and promote the civilization, progress and development of the society.

From my point of view, paying tax is both necessary and compulsory, but it is not the sole duty. Whether to take on more social responsibility depends on individual ability and will. People only paying tax want the proress of society as much as we do, but they don’t want to or have no ability to contribute more for it. Not only do we accentuate compliance with social norms and morals, but also we want to orient the society into harmony and prosperity.

All citizens have the obligation to pay tax, but should they shoulder other social responsibilities? I think the answer lies with different situations.

It is quite understandable for some people to regard paying tax as their only duty. There may be two reasons for this. First of all, they are not aware of other social social responsibilities, which they are obligated to undertake because of less well-educated or more self-concentrated. Besides, they also do not want to take on more duties under the fact of lacking time and energy. Under pent-up pressure, they have to work long hours and have no mood to think of anything else.

However, those cherishing the belief of undertaking more duties towards our society can be superior to othersin a sense. To begin with, they have a highlevel of education and are conscious that they should fulfill their obligations when enjoying their rights, such as abiding by the law, caring for public property and so on, so as tostabilize the harmonious social order. What’s more, people with certain influence, such as famous stars or wealthy businessmen, do have the abillity and will to contribute to the society, not just for their own benefits. They do charity, and invest to research new technology to promote social civilization.

From my point of view, paying tax is both necessary and compulsory, but it is not the sole duty. Whether to take on more social responsibilities depends on individual capability and will. People only paying tax want the progress of society as much as we do, but they don’t want to or have no ability to contribute more to it. Not only do we accentuate compliance with social norms and morals, but we want to orient the community into harmony and prosperity.
