In many countries, people are living in a “throwaway society” where things are used for a short time and thrown away. What are the causes of this and what problems does it lead to?

“Throwaway society” exists in many countries now, so, whta’s the causes od it?

To begin with, ecomomic development is pivotal in forming “throwaway society”. People’s disposable income increased noticeably as the improvement of living standard. So, they tend to buy various produts excepet necessaries, which are not indispensable. Besides, the young generation, the main force in purchasing, formed a bad purchasing habit. Unlike their seniorities, most of them never suffer poverty or deprivation of goods and materials. They take spending money lavishly for granted. In addition, mojarity of them are inclined to buy on a whim after watching the advertisement or a slight discount. However, finally they find what they bought is not satisfying as the propoganda or unnecessary for them. Last, the update cycle becomes shorter and shorter, take cellphones for example, cellphones companies almost release new cellphones several times a year. Every products seem to face the fate of being out-dated. In order to keep pace with the times, companies focus on desinging new produts all the time while the customers follow them behind.

And what may it lead to? In my opinion, it’s detrimental to the environment. Throwaway society totally belies sustainable development, it wastes more materials and resources in the same span of time. And recycling is not adopted in this type of society. However, it can foster innovation. Because customers have higher requirements, they long for buying approximately consummate products, which combine various functions in one. Consequently,in order to cater to them,  companies resort to innovation to be competitive or ser the trend in their fields. Finally, it promotes economic growth. Consumer’s expenditures are essential in ecnomic development, contributing to Gross Domestic Product.

In conclusion, “throwaway society” is mainly caused by economic growth, purchasing habits and update cycle. In the meanwhile, it poses a threat to environment but contributes to economic growth and industrial innovation.

    1. Specify possible reasons behind the problem and potential direction of the trend in the first paragraph.
    2. Lengthy paragraphs. Restrict each paragraph to 90 words.
    3. About 20% of the sentences are passive. Convert some of them into their active counterparts.

“Throwaway society” is seemingly a trend all over the world nowadays. And people wonder what cuase it and what the trend leads to? I think economic development and business competition are responsible for the change. In the meantime, this tendency has a positive effect on economy in turn but cause waste and pollution.
