More and more people are migrating to cities in search of a better life, but city life can be extremely difficult. Explain some of the difficulties of living in a city. How can governments make urban life better for everyone?

It is true that increasing population are moving to cities despite urban lives could be uneasy for them. In my opinion, there are several aspects of the difficulties when living in cities and the government can take certain measures to improve living qualities for the public.

There are three main reasons why living in cities is much harder than in towns or villages. Above all, because of a higher population density, quantities of cities are faced with serious environmental problems including air pollution and excessive rubbish, which are harmful to our health. Another reason is that public places such as subways and supermarket are always crowded with people. That would absolutely reduce the working efficiency and quality of lives. Finally, with a higher cost of living in urban areas, citizens have to pay a lot more for housing, medical treatment and even food than in rural areas.

However, there are various measures the government can take to solve these problems. Firstly, policy should be formulated to advocate environmental friendly actions and limit polluting industries. For example, we can use public transport instead of private cars so as to reduce the gas emission and forbid burning plastic products. Secondly, the government ought to increase the investment and create more job opportunities in the developing areas so that residents there feel satisfied with lives in hometown. That would not only promote equality in society but also reduce population pressure in cities, thus solving those problems due to increasing  people in cities.

In conclusion, the government could take effective measures to enhance life quality in cities.
