One can never deny that both politician and scientists pose a significant influence on the development of human civilisation. While when it comes to compares which one weight more, I hold the belief that there is no final resolution as they are equally important with their positive and negative importance which can not possibly be put together for comparison.

The scientists can greatly facilitate or extirpate human being’s society. Firstly, countless problems we are encountering could be resolved by their innovation and creation. Biochemical pharmacy, hybrid energy shuttle buses, treatment for cancer, rocket travelling between the Earth and the moon, transgene wheat… the list never ends. On the other hand, astonishing technology by them also threat the world, especially those with massive damaging capability for military purposes. A nuclear missile, bacterial weapons, a powerful drone which drops bombs and so on, all of these inventions could turn our life into a disaster.

Politicians, meanwhile, can also make the world a better or worse place. For one hand, they can utilise their influences upon the government to deploy policies which server the resident’s good. For instance, promoting the law and order by install regulations among the people, repairing damaged avenues, fining enterprises which breach the environmental restrictions, and providing subsidies for unemployed workers. However, they might take advantage of their power and exert them into bad use. For example, initiating wars on foreign countries to transform domestic economic crisis, accepting bribes then release murder in the prison out, or even being the umbrella for gangsters.

In conclusion, a persuasive comparison between them can never be made, for there is no standard economically, scientifically, politically or in any parameter. They do potentially and directly influence the world in a sense, therefore both of which deserve much attention for the public.
