Some people believe that teenagers should concentrate on all school subjects. Others believe that teenagers should focus on the subjects that they are best at or that they find the most interesting. Discuss both these views and give your own opinions.

In responding to the all-round development of education, some schools believe that students should be exposed to a diverse curriculum. In my view, teenagers should pay closer attention to the subjects that they are fond of or have talents on.

Advocates of comprehensively developed education might think that a wide range of knowledge equips students with a competitive context, which helps them survive or stand out in a future career. It is true that academic knowledge and practical skills learned from various classes enable students to think or look at things from a different angle. It imposes strain on the brain simultaneously since there lies a gap between courses. Students have to cope with a load of information coming from separated fields at the same time. Some thus find it difficult to get success in each subject. In this end, the positive outcome of multi-courses would not be achieved.

Some people might argue that students can study better and achieve attainment if they only focus on subjects that lie their true love or their potentials. Teenagers tend to be motivated to work hard and explore more deeply if they give priority to their dream class. The high study efficiency would be the result of their painstaking attempt, resulting in constantly satisfying academic performances.

In my opinion, young people majoring in certain courses are more likely to exert their potentials since they can study in a comfortable atmosphere without any educational pressure. All subjects assign extra homework to students and have specific demands of either quality or quantity, which takes up most of the children’s spare time. Their extra-curriculum activities have to give way to those kinds of stuff, and this contributes to students’ lack of exercise or even sleep. Teenagers might be in a sub-healthy state. By comparison, they have more time and energy to fill their life with interesting things beyond their majored subjects.

In conclusion, it is of higher value for schools to encourage interest-oriented or talent-oriented education instead of just imparting a wide range of knowledge through diverse subjects.
