Some people believe that visitors to other countries should follow local customs and behaviour. Others disagree and think that the host country should welcome cultural differences.

With tourism booming today, it is quite common to see that massive people travel around the world to enjoy different views. However, cultural differences have caused many troubles. Under this situation, some people claim that visitors to other countries should obey local customs while others argue that the host country should open the door to accept culture from different regions.

Persuasive reasons for following local customs and behaviour can be divided into three parts. To begin with, it is a polite way to show visitors’ respect for local culture. The host country’s humans may welcome more visitors through this way, which is full of kindness. Tourists could acquire more knowledge about local culture, which is the second part. While following the local culture, people can get to know why local people do. At the same time, visitors may be absorbed in the local culture. Finally, if someone hopes to experience a different lifestyle, the best way is doing as local people do. That is a direct approach to enjoying local life.

On the other hand, many individuals argue that the host country should accept different cultures. First and foremost, it is a horrible consequence if the host country only accepts others following local customs and behaviour, which makes the whole country become more and more stubborn. Replacing the drawbacks in local customs is another cultural benefit of welcoming cultural differences. A multiple could accept new ideas and then change the antiquated customs and behaviours.

To conclude, visitors’ following and host countries’ welcoming differences should coexist. From my perspective, these two arguments are not forming a conflict. Tourists should obey the local convention and the host country should have an acceptance of cultural differences.
