Some people think that government should establish free libraries in each town. Others, however, believe that it is a waste of money since the public can use the Internet to obtain information. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Technological progress has made accessing the Internet an efficient way of receiving information. So many people think there is no need to establish free libraries. But I hold the view that public libraries still worth building.

There is no doubt that it is convenient for people to access online resources because they can search for the subjects they are interested in whenever and wherever they are, using electronic devices like mobile phones and computers. Other than that, a wide range of digitalized academic papers and books are available on the Internet. Therefore libraries are not the only access to them anymore.
Building libraries can provide the public with censored free books, which offers them an opportunity to gain an insight into experts’ opinions and knowledge. Professional content mostly is not available for free because we respect intellectual property rights. However, free information on the Internet may be wrong because authors lack expertise or want to attract public attention.

Another benefit of establishing free libraries in each town is that it offers a place to study or work where everyone is quiet and concentrated. In modern times, a large proportion of land is used for building venues for entertainment because these venues generate a large amount of profit. Students thus find it difficult to find a place to focus on their studies after school. Some adults need to do their desk jobs after work as well. Therefore, Governments should give priority to library construction and motivate people to learn and make progress in the libraries.

Overall, I would argue that building libraries is not a waste of money because it provides people with free professional information and a wonderful place to learn.
