Showing respect to teachers is a virtue of Chinese traditional custom, it reflects students’ appreciation of teachers’ work. Some individuals argue that students do not respect teachers as much as they did in the past, while others hold the opposite point. Considering that nowadays students could show their regard for teachers in their own way, I think the latter view is true.

For various students, each of them has his own way to express respect to teachers. As primary school students, they show respect to their teachers from the heart without much flashy words. their parents are always busy with their business so that hardly their kids can be taken cared by them, and these kids are left in the school to be nursed by teachers there. In the class, teachers could lead them to learn interesting stories to expand their horizon and open their mind, to study alphabets to grasp some basic words, and also other fundamental knowledge, which will be useful in their later study life. During daily life, the kids should listen to teachers’ instruction to eat healthy diet and to go to sleep on time. All these things could help kids shape good eating and sleep habits which could be crucial in their lifetime. Thus, not only the teacher should help them with schoolwork but also assist them in daily life. Though these students are at young age, they understand who are really care about them and view their teachers as actual parents. Their sunny and innocent smile always brings teachers warmth. They will also portray their teachers silently and then give their teachers as a gift in the Teachers’ Day. In addition, the pupils would also write the little things happened between them and teachers to preserve the good moments.

For high school students, they will present their respect to teachers with remarkable improvement of scores. Since they are under great pressure of exams at this stage, all they want is a high mark. Their teachers would do their best to help them achieve their goal, like patiently answering any questions in detail, carefully correct their assignments handed on even till midnight, giving them a study aid to make a study plan face to face and so on. With such assistance, it’s their increased grades that would be a best respect to their teachers, since students convert their teachers’ all effort into an visible outcome which makes their teachers relieved.

Also, college students would show their respect to teachers with their great progress in the future. College students are facing heavy stress and forced to make a plan for future. It’s inevitable for them to get lost at this point. So their instructors could not only provide them with constructive suggestions and practical ideas to find their goal but also help them get their ideas into shape and gain a deep understanding of what they really want to engage in. Plus, a glowing letter of recommendation would also be a great favor from teachers. And these students should always have their assistance in mind, keep going forward in order make great achievements which will justify their teachers’ effort. That would be the best proof for their kind-hearted teachers’ aid and also the highest honor for their teachers.

In a nutshell, students now have many different ways to show their respect to teachers and do respect their teachers as much as they did in the past, they will always be grateful for their teachers.
