Successful people try new things and take risks rather than only doing what they already know how to do well. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Successful people are willing to try new things and take risks, while others just follow their daily routine to do what they’re already familiar with. I agree this is an essential difference between the successful and the ordinary, because the bravery to encounter new things lead to creation and self-development.

Successful people want to explore new ways. They’re innovative, open-mined and don’t stick to a blocked path. This gives them the power of creativity, enhancing their chance to reveal the truth. Just consider how Einstein developed the theory of relativity. In his times, scientists were so loyal to classic theories that even it generated contradictions, they never doubted its righteousness. Einstein was more openminded and dared to revise his early path on classic theories, so he finally revealed the truth. His success is exactly due to his welcome to new things.

However, more people just stick to what they already know. The reason behind that are laziness and cost of silence. When doing what we know is far easier than figuring out new solutions, it’s more likely for us to stay in the comfort zone. When we’ve already spent lots of effort into what we stick to, it’s tough for us to try new things, as they could make us change our route. Actually, Einstein was not the first one to think of his theory, but he was the first to establish it. Many people are not unable to innovate, they just don’t want to ‘betray’ what they already have.

Indeed, success of new paths go hand in hand with risks. Jobs took the new path to create smart phone and achieved huge success. Nokia also tried a new path to combine cellphone with handheld gameplayer, but they ended up in total loss. Not all innovation could succeed. But without those attempts, any great success of humanity won’t have been achieved. Bravery to take risks itself is a characteristic of successful people.

To sum up, taking new paths brings about chances to succeed and fulfillments in life. That’s why I believe in trying new things and taking the risks.
