The best way to improve the quality of education in a country is to increase teacher’s salaries.
Many people believe that raising teachers’ salaries is the best way to improve the quality of education because teachers will be motivated to work harder. However, increasing teachers’ salaries does not necessarily benefit education and there are other better ways to achieve the goal.
Increasing teachers’ salaries does not guarantee that they will contribute more. Currently, many teachers are teaching without passion because they supplement their income by private lessons after school. Even if governments try to increase teachers’ salaries, the added part of their salaries will not be considerable. Therefore, teachers will still pay more attention to the children who provide more money. The quality of education will not improve.
Adding more social practices to students’ lives is a wiser way to improve the quality of education. Students today concentrate only on their assignments. They think it is the best way for them to attend good universities and have decent jobs. However, students are likely to lack some crucial abilities, such as interpersonal skills and critical thinking, under this educational system. Without such abilities, they will face more problems when they find jobs. Thus, governments should require students to take part in social practices to develop their abilities on various sides.
Another effective way for governments to improve their quality of education is to reduce class size. Nowadays, there are usually more than 40 students in a class. Teachers cannot pay attention to everyone in such a class. Some students who are in trouble may not get help from their teachers, so they can hardly make progress. By contrast, a smaller class means everyone will get enough focus. Students in smaller classes are more likely to get better scores in exams. That is good for the improvement of educational quality.
In conclusion, improving teachers’ salaries is not the best way to improve the quality of education. Governments are supposed to try other better ways.

Supposing that government tries to increase teachers’ salaries, the added part of their salaries will not be comparable to the money they earn from private lessons.
