The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts illustrate the proportions in typical meals on average of three different nutrients (sodium, saturated fat and added sugar) consumed in the USA, which could be unhealthy to us if we take in too much.

In terms of sodium and saturated fat, dinner accounts for the largest proportions of the two nutrients consumed, then lunch comes the second. In other word, the two meals are the main sources of sodium and saturated fat, taking up significant percentages of both of the two nutrients. By contrast, snacks contributed to 42% of added sugar, which is much higher than that taken in the other meals. Besides, one striking feature of the three charts is that the smallest percentage of each nutrient comes from breakfast, with 14%, 16% and 16% respectively.

Overall, in the USA, the majority of sodium and saturated fat are consumed at dinner and lunch, while snacks constitute a relatively substantial proportion of added sugar.

    Score: ungraded

    Issues:

    1. About 75% of the sentences exceed 20 words. Shorten/split them.
    2. About 15% of the sentences are passive. Convert some of them into their active counterparts.
    3. Introduction just repeats the question, instead summarise the information in your own words
    4. Verb form errors
    5. Simply – remove unnecessary words
