The diagram presents a comprehensive visualization of the modern industrial brick production process. The process begins at a clay pit with heavy excavation machinery. Raw ore is passed through a vertical filtration system and a roller system transfers the sifted clay into a water/sand mixture. At this point, the combined ingredients are either passed directly into a brick mould, or a mechanical brick making device that employs metal wire brick cutters. The mould produces roughly identical bricks individually, while the mechanical device slices bricks from a sheet of clay, sand and water. A drying oven is then used to remove excess moisture from the bricks [1 or 2 days]. Two large kilns are progressively employed to harden the bricks beginning with 200 degrees C. and ending at 1300 degrees C., at which point the bricks are passed into a cooling chamber for 2 or 3 days. Finally, the bricks are stacked and packaged before delivery. [156 words]
