The environmental problems facing today’s world are so great that there is little ordinary people can do to improve the situation. Government and large companies should be responsible for reducing the amount of damage being done to the environment. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Environmental problems have caused a serious problem in societies and some of them think that some measures can only be taken by the government and big firms rather than ordinary people. In my opinion, it is equally important for individuals and government and big firms to protect the environment.

There is no denying that government has introduced a law as a result of an increasing number of cars, which may cause the greenhouse effect as the emission of the gases are filled with toxic chemicals, and even lead to haze. Therefore, they set up a series of regulations to encourage people to take public transport instead of using personal cars. Similarly, some big companies also make efforts to protect the environment by developing eco-friendly technologies, recycling the industrial water before pouring into rivers and relocating their factories from city center.

However, individuals can also make great contributions to improving the environment in their own ways. First, decreasing the use of plastic bags and disposable products are significantly efficient. According to a survey, tons of marine animals are suffering from pain because of plastic. Some may be trapped, some may hard to digest and even result in death. These things are nightmares to them, so it is well-beneficial if we use less of plastic products. In addition, instead of driving cars, taking public transport is also a solution associated with the environment, only if governments expanding the area that subways lead, widening roads that may allow cyclists and opening more financial-friendly bus lines to the locals.

Consequently, I think that not only government and big firms need to take responsibilities for the environment, but also individuals can do more than they think to make our world a better and stunning place.

Environmental problems have caused a serious problem in societies and some people think that some measures can only be taken by the government and big firms rather than ordinary people. In my opinion, it is equally important for individuals and government and big firms to protect the environment.

The government has introduced some laws to prevent cars from being overcrowded and causing frequent traffic congestion as there are a variety of cars in urban cities, which may increase vehicle carbon emissions. Therefore, those regulations are to encourage people to take public transport instead of using private cars. Similarly, some big companies also make efforts to protect the environment by developing eco-friendly technologies, recycling industrial water before pouring into rivers, and relocating their factories from urban areas.

However, individuals can also make great contributions to improving the environment in their own ways. First, avoid disposable products such as disposable utensils and plastic bags. Instead, use more durable products and materials. According to a survey, tons of marine animals are suffering from pain because of plastic. Some may be trapped, others may hard to digest plastic and even result in death. These things are nightmares to them, so it is well-beneficial if we use fewer plastic products. In addition, instead of driving cars, taking public transport is also a solution associated with the environment, only if governments expand the area that subways lead, widening roads that may allow cyclists and open more financial-friendly bus lines to the locals.
