Environmental problems have become a common concern for many. Some people may think that the major environmental problem is the loss of plants and animals. Others hold that there are more significant problems. I hold the view that the loss of plants and animals is a part of environmental concerns.
Many people consider that the loss of plants and animals is the most serious issue because the extinction would destroy biodiversity. The extinction of a species would harm ecological balance. For instance, if wolves died out, the number of sheep would soar since they don’t have predators. As a result, overgrazing would damage meadows.
Others may argue that human behaviors would cause more severe environmental issues. The fact is that the population has been increasing in recent years. Hence, the government exploits natural resources to meet people’s needs. For example, they cut down trees to make furniture and to construct houses. Additionally, people use too much energy, causing energy crisis.
Personally, although the loss of plants and animals is severe, I think it is one aspect of environmental problems. The core of environmental issues is the harmony between man and nature. Human could access to natural resources like fossil energy sources, lands, and marine resources without restrictions. As a result, their actions deteriorate the environment, such as species extinction.
