The opinions of celebrities, such as famous entertainers and athletes, are more important to younger people than they are to older people. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Currently, celebrities are more willing to share their opinions with us ordinary people as means of information transfer become convenient. Some of these ideas may be crooked and their negative impact on young people is increasingly worrying. In my opinion, younger people are easier to be influence by celebrities than older people.

Older generations receive information mainly from TV, while younger generations receive information mainly on the Internet. On TV programs, celebrities express their ideas less. Instead, they follow the instructions of directors, thus they rarely impress audience because of their own opinion. However, on the Internet, they are free to share ideas no matter how striking the ideas are. These seemingly rebelling tweets or messages attract young people a lot and impose a strong influence on them.

Aside from different preference of media, older generations tend to have a solid view of life. They experienced far more than young people and have a more comprehensive perspective on celebrities. For instance, my father, one of the ordinary old guys in the world, criticizes TV shows or celebrity interviews every day from his point of view. When he hears a novel viewpoint, he always judges it by relating to his own experience, which young people lack.

Most importantly , in many countries’ traditional culture, only seniors have the ability and right to impart knowledge and viewpoint to juniors. “Do not try to persuade the old because he knows more than you” is a consensus in China or even in the world. That is to say, celebrities hardly try to impose an influence on older generation. To make an opinion more convincing and persuasive, usually a lot of examples or stories need to be included in one’s narrative. Famous people tend to make the story closes to teenagers’ life, thus making profit from them.

Needless to say, younger or older generations will be influenced by celebrities. But in my opinion, younger people are undoubtedly easier to be influenced because of their ways for obtaining information and lack of experience.

    Score: ungraded

    Issues:

    1. About 30% of the sentences exceed 20 words. Simplify or split them. (TOEFL/IELTS: 15%- qualifies for non-software revision; 30% applies to GRE writing)
    2. Lots of grammatical errors and unclear sentences.

I will send you screenshots to illustrate specific problems/errors.
