The pie chart shows several reasons why agricultural land is getting lower productivity, and the table compares three regions about different behaviours result in the various degrees of land degradation.

Over-gazing occupies the most proportion on damaging agricultural land productivity, which accounts for 35 percent. In addition, deforestation and over-cultivation are also the main factors which lead to land deterioration, which contributes 30 percent and 28 percent respectively.

When compared with other two regions, the situation of the land degradation in Europe is the most serious part which total degraded land makes up 23 percent. Deforestation causes land low productivity in Europe is much more than North America, the ratios are 9.8 precent and 0.2 percent respectively. Similarly, the proportion of over-cultivation in Europe is 7.7 precent, while it is not a reason why land becomes declining fertility in Oceania. As a consequence of over-gazing in Oceania, the total deteriorated land still reaches by 23 percent, although the ratios of other two behaviours are pretty low.

Over-gazing is the foremost cause which leads to land degradation, and also deforestration and over-cultivation both have impressive effects on it. The total degraded land in Europe is rather more than in Oceania and in North America, while the situation of North America seems better.
