    The table below shows the amount of waste production (in million tonnes) in six different countries over a twenty-year period.

    This table compares the situation of production wasting (in million tonnes) in Ireland, Japan, Korea, Poland, Portugal, and the US respectively in the year of 1980, 1990 and 2000.

    The situation of the US of waste production is the most serious in these 6 nations in whatever the year is during the 20 years. What is more, all of the 6 countries were getting a worse condition for production wasting as time goes by between the year of 1980 to 2000.

    The amount of waste production in the US is 131 million tonnes in 1980, 151 in 1990 and 192 in 2000, which is the largest one in these 3 years. Japan, which is the second largest one to the US has 28 million tonnes of waste production in 1980 and the amount was increased to 53 in 2000. What is more, in 1980, the situation in Ireland, Poland, and Portugal are not so serious because their amount to this are all below 5 million tonnes, except of Korea, whose figure is not available.

    In the 4 countries have full figures, which are Japan, Poland, Portugal, and the US, all of their amount of waste production is increased between 1980 to 2000. Especially Portugal, which amount is more than doubled in 2000 in comparison to the figure in 1980. However, in terms of the available number of Korea, the situation of production wasting was getting better from 1990 to 2000.
