Professionals majoring in Sports normally have higher market value than those in different professions. Viewpoints towards this phenomenon vary from individuals, someone believes it is fair, while others disagree. In my opinion, the market value of professions is strongly related to the development of relevant industries. Sports events have been being increasingly popular around the world recently, improving the market value of Sports profession. However, we should take social benefits into serious consideration when weighing the value of disciplines.

On the one hand, experts in Sports indeed earn more because of the tremendous and growing sports market. In the era of modern society, there is no need for individuals to struggle for living. And then we turn to seek entertainment to satisfy our psychological needs, prospering the service industry such as sports. There is a saying in economics, “Demand determines value.” So does the Sports profession.

On the other hand, it is improper that the value of professions is only decided by Market demand. Some subjects, such as History, Sociology and so on, play important roles on the development of society with limited market value. Take History as an example, after summarizing the law of historical development, historians can provide current governors with guidelines to make right decisions. However, the enthusiasm of professionals with relatively low market value would be destroyed for the disadvantaged socioeconomic position.

To sum up, the fact that sport professionals earn more is proper under the condition of capital market to some extent. However, the value of professions should not be only determined by the market.
