Many living habits change with the history development. One of the most apparent changes is that young people no longer rely on their parents’ advice. Some disagree with the proposal. They argue that children nowadays are unable to live without the help of their parents. For me, I agree with the former argument.

The development of technology is the main factor contributing this change. No one can deny the impact of network on our daily life. If young people want to know what’s going on around the world, all thing they have to do is to click on their mobile phones. Similarly, when they face a dilemma, they can search for the solution on the Internet. After distinguishing the useful advice, they can make the proper decision without the help of parents. In this case, after young people getting out of the dilemma, their parents may even have no idea about what has happened on their children.

From the perspective of parents, sometimes they are unable to give helpful advice. Time changes so fast that people can hardly know everything. According to the recent science report published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, about 70 percent of people age 35 to 45 admit they can no longer keep up with the pace of the times. This figure is twice as many as in 2008. In most cases, what parents can do is to support their children with encouragement. In hence, young people have no choice but to make decision by themselves.

Admittedly, parents create a better living environment for their children. Some regard it as the evidence of young people depending much on parents. However, there is no connection between these two. A better environment doesn’t mean young people nowadays are spoiled and loss the ability to decide their own lives. On the contrary, young people nowadays get a better education and have a wider horizon, which assist them to determine their life direction.
