    TPO writing 61

It is strongly believed that government should not offer Internet to all citizens at no cost. Here are several reasons for this opinion.

Firstly, the access of internet requires a combinition of powerful finance and advanced technology, which will bring about heavy load if the government gives the access to citizens for free. In one example, the servers in Nevada, US requires as much electricity as that is required for a city with hundreds of thousands of people. Also, the maintenance costs is so high that local governments may not afford. To sum up, maintaining continous access to the Internet is expensive. So it is impossible for goverments to spread the access for free.

Secondly, unlike the roads that may last for decades without modification,Internet revolutes rapidly. Take communication technology for example, the duration between the birth of 4G and 5G is within ten years. The rapid advancement of the Internet relies on a solid foundation of economic support and provides better service to the public. So I believe it really worthwhile for citizens to exchange money for a continous advancing Internet access.

Last but not least, in modern era, Internet access really has a higher status than other services. In China, for example, Internet is regarded as a type-new power to boost the productivity. The rapid development of internet can give rise to new companies, uphold the transformation of industry and promote the economy. In the eyes of government, it may bring more tax income and makes it possible to boost the economy. As a result, it is common practice for governments to support the development of Internet firms, which offers the public access to interet at some costs.

To sum up,it is comon practice for government to offer access to internet not for free to promote the advancement of the Internet.
