Recently, views differ considerably when it comes to the issue of whether workers are more satisfied to take similar tasks or different tasks in the work. Some may say that similar tasks are simpler to do, which will satisfy the workers. I, however, totally believe that different types of tasks are better.

First, doing the same tasks all day long could be really boring. It is, however, simpler to some extent, to do the same work. Go to the company at 9, grab a coffee and have a seat in your office, place your hands on the keyboard and watch the computer screen from morning to night. The only job you have is totally the same as your next-door coworker and both of you knew that from the day you got into the company. Can you bear that from the New Year to Christmas, and keep onto it for many years? I believe the answer is no. That’s too boring and people will get depressed in that kind of environment.

Secondly, doing different types of tasks is not only more interesting, but it could also help workers learn more. You can finish some paperwork and make phone calls on Monday, go visit some old customers and talk about later cooperation on Tuesday, check the goods’ condition and stay in contact with your supplier on Wednesday and so on. This kind of job is completely different from the upper one. Doing different types of tasks not only give you the chance to experience more things that related to your major, it may also allow you to meet many people from different background, from which you could learn a lot beyond your own field. That could eventually benefit your long-term personal growth.
