It is a common phenomenon that juvenile crime is increasing at a terrifying rate all over the world. Some people reckon that juvenile criminals are judged by the law which is suitable for adults. This statement is not true with considering the deterrent to young people and the fairness of victims.

First and foremost, using more powerful and authoritative laws to treat young criminals serve as a deterrent to them. Most of the young offenders realize that if they commit crimes, they can get off lightly due to the protection laws. It causes the young generation who ignore laws harbor the conspiracy. For example, the majority of students was subjected to bullying at school in recent years because those perpetrators were hardly punished or cost a lot. In their mind, committing petty like menacing, fighting, bullying isn’t illegal, but it actually breaks the laws. Therefore, if the law became more serious than before, maybe they clearly understand price of his illegal activities. It can impose a positive impact on young people to force them out of crime.

Furthermore, it is helpful for fairness in society. Lots of juvenile criminals are protected by the law due to the immature mind. It means not only the victims are innocent but also the young criminals should be forgiven. For victims, it is unfair because they experience a disastrous suffering which might lead to disability, psychological issues, and death. However, criminals stay the juvenile prison and will leave several years later. If minors who commits crimes are treated as adults, the juvenile criminals need to reform thought labours like adults such as transforming the stone, cleaning streets, fixing the broken item and so on. Thus, young people who break the laws must atone for their crime by contributing the society. It shows the fair to society effectively.

In conclusion, judging juvenile criminals using adults’ laws keep the youth away from crimes. Meanwhile, it makes people understand everybody is equal before the law.
